Typography plays a major role in communicating the intent and mood of the setting. Choosing the right font can be the difference between good and bad design.
While the English language script has gained appreciation in many forms, Indian native scripts are yet to catch up. The rise of several native script fonts is a more recent phenomenon. There is a need to appreciate and observe the form of these languages for the future of Indian typography.
Concept
In order to appreciate the shape and structure of the Telugu script, I have designed a set of 3 bookshelves that use the curves and edges of the letters itself.
Ideation
Traditionally, the telugu script has a circular, curved appearance. In order to suit the needs of making a piece of furniture, I exaggerated the letters to look more angular.I picked 3 letters from the alphabet for this purpose.
